Senior Mechanical Engineer

About The RoleAt Parallel Fluidics, we are building infrastructure to power the next generation of life science tools. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and executing open-ended projects from concept to implementation. The ideal candidate has been a key player on high-performing engineering teams with deep expertise in electromechanical system design, design-for-manufacturing, and automation. Please apply if you are excited to create an outsized impact by developing breakthrough products at a rapidly growing startup.ResponsibilitiesEngineeringOwn planning and execution of high-impact engineering projectsDesign and build Parallel’s next generation of automated manufacturing systemsContribute to the development of Parallel’s engineering processes and best practicesMentor junior engineers across disciplinesReport progress and key insights to company leadershipProduct developmentCollaborate with the applications team to understand customers’ needs and refine product requirementsServe as primary contributor on development of new microfluidic hardware productsOwn verification and validation of products prior to launchTransfer high-volume products from in-house manufacturing to third-party manufacturersManufacturing systemsFind opportunities to improve our in-house designed manufacturing equipmentDesign experiments and test methods to optimize manufacturing processesCollaborate with the manufacturing team to identify gaps and opportunities for improvementQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field6+ years of experience in high-performing engineering organizationsDeep commercial experience in product development, design-for-manufacturing, machine design, and automationProven track record of bringing high-volume products to marketExcellent communication and project management skillsExpertise in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion, or equivalent)PreferredFamiliarity with cleanroom environments and microfabrication processesKnowledge of regulatory and safety standards for laboratory instrumentationExperience building microfluidic technologiesWhat we offerA collaborative and innovative work environment where your ideas shape our future.
