Title: Executive Director – Head of Capital Risk and GovernanceOffice Status: Hybrid – New York, NYBase Salary: $225,000 – $270,000 (commensurate with experience)Overview: A well-capitalized global financial institution is making a significant investment in its U.S. capital stress testing infrastructure and is seeking a senior risk leader to head that build-out. This is a rare opportunity to step into a newly created function and construct the CCAR framework, governance, and team from the ground up, with full support from senior leadership and meaningful visibility to regulators. For the right person, this is the kind of role that comes along once in a career — real scope, real resources, and a clean slate to do it right.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive CCAR and capital stress testing oversight framework, building the function from its foundationRecruit and develop a specialized team of capital risk professionals with deep expertise in stress testing, regulatory capital, and capital planningProvide independent second line oversight of capital ratios and stress projections under both baseline and adverse scenarios, ensuring rigor and credibility across the processReview and challenge key capital metrics including CET1, Tier 1, Total Capital, leverage ratios, and risk-weighted assets across relevant entitiesEstablish governance structures, escalation protocols, and documentation standards appropriate for a CCAR-regulated institutionServe as the primary point of contact for regional regulators on capital and stress testing matters, representing the second line function with authority and clarityPartner with Treasury, Finance, and business leadership to assess capital actions, stress results, and balance sheet strategyIdentify and close gaps in the capital risk framework, driving enhancement plans through to completionPrepare and present capital analyses, stress test results, and oversight findings to senior management, regional boards, and risk committeesEnsure timely identification and escalation of capital issues, limit breaches, and emerging risksDrive process automation and operational efficiency across the function as it scalesCoordinate with global risk counterparts to align methodologies and ensure consistency across jurisdictions
