DescriptionLocation:Chesapeake, VA. Indian Creek Correctional Center is a level 2 medium security prison.This facility provides specialized treatment services to individuals with substance use disorderHours:Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm OR 7:45 am - 4:45 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch breakPay Rate:$25.00/hr. ($52,000 annually). Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent certification/license are eligible for $27.88/hr.($58,000 annually)Benefits :Health, dental, vision insurance/additional voluntary insurancesCompany-paid life insurance/employee assistance programsGenerous paid time off accrualTuition reimbursement/loan repayment options401k with company match up to 7%!Discounts on wide array of services/entertainment nationwideTheTransition Specialistis responsible for:Providing group education, release planning, case management, and re-entry preparation services to the clients who have completed the Cognitive Therapeutic Community program at Indian Creek Correctional Center and are within 90 days of their release from incarcerationArranging continuing care needs for the returning citizens to prepare them to meet their various treatment, support, and living needs once they are released from incarcerationFacilitates Thinking for a Change classes, attends Re-Entry Council meetings in the Tidewater area, and sponsors outside vendors to conduct workshops and seminars for the returning citizensWorking closely with Virginia Department of Corrections personnel to ensure quality services and promote a healing environment where people with substance use disorders can learn to live in recovery as returning citizensQualificationsQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field is requiredState certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required within two (2) years of signing job descriptionCase management experience is requiredExperience working in the substance abuse treatment field is preferredExperience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plusExperience working in Therapeutic Community model programs is a plus
