About chaserchaser is a nightlife loyalty and rewards platform built by WNDR Group LLC. Founded in Austin, TX chaser is redefining what loyalty looks like in the nightlife and third-space economy. We are building fast, shipping real products, and growing a small engineering team that takes ownership seriously.The RoleYou will work directly on the chaser iOS and website applications while supporting backend systems; building features, owning code quality, and shipping in a fast-paced, sprint-based environment.You will collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and business stakeholders. Personability and clear communication matter here. We are a small team and everyone's voice counts.What You Will Work OnChaser iOS application: React Native codebase, shipped on the App Store and utilized by hundreds of active users.Plaid & Stripe integration and transaction-based loyalty logic.User-facing features: activity feed, status tiers, leaderboards, rewards marketplace, push notifications.Backend API and data layer supporting real-time app experiences.Developer tooling, test coverage, and CI/CD pipeline improvements.Expo-based simulation environments for local development and QA.RequirementsCore Technical SkillsReact Native: primary mobile framework; you should be comfortable with component architecture, navigation, state management, and native module integration.SQL and Backend Experience: backend data layer experience.GitHub: pull requests, branching strategy, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows are part of daily life here.Data Structures & Algorithms: fundamental understanding is required; this is a non-negotiable baseline.Nice To Have SkillsDesign instincts: general understanding of good design principles, computer-human interaction.AWS experience.What We Expect Day-to-DayScrum fluency: sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and meeting deadlines without hand-holding. We abide by industry standards here.Strong code review discipline: both giving and receiving; our team has expert-level review standards.Self-directed execution: you identify blockers, ask the right questions, and keep moving.Best coding practices: we believe AI tools make great engineers better and good engineers faster. That being said, the expectation is you understand what you ship. Strong communication: We understand everyone has things going on, we expect strong communication and discipline to ensure our timeline and execution are aligned. Compensation This role will start off as an unpaid position. We are seeking a software engineer that is excited to build their resume by working on a production application used by real users and provides the opportunity to own end to end implementation of features. The expectation is this position will take between 10 - 15 hours a week depending on your schedule.
