We're building out a sales engineering team for a new robotics/AI product line at a growth-stage technology company. This is the technical backbone of the sales cycle — owning product demonstrations, proof-of-concept programs, on-site deployment, and customer training across multiple verticals including education, industrial/manufacturing, public safety, and events/hospitality. You won't carry a sales quota, but you'll be the reason the sales team wins and keeps customers.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver product demonstrations and structured POC programs for prospective customers across assigned verticals.
Lead on-site installation, configuration, connectivity setup, and acceptance testing for deployed systems.
Train customer teams and operators on system use, troubleshooting, and best practices.
Translate customer requirements into scenario-specific solutions and clear technical success criteria.
Own the pre-sales technical Q&A process; troubleshoot field issues and route structured feedback to the product/engineering team.
Maintain the regional demo fleet — inventory, condition, firmware readiness, and event logistics.
Support channel partners with product training, technical certification, and first-deployment coaching.
Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and customer events.
Partner closely with regional account managers on active customer pursuits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, field application engineering, or technical deployment of robotics, automation, or IoT products.
Hands-on ability to independently install, configure, network, troubleshoot, and demonstrate technical systems at customer sites.
Strong presentation and training skills — able to explain complex technology to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Organized and execution-driven; comfortable owning multiple concurrent deployments and demo commitments.
Willingness to travel 50%+ within an assigned region.
Preferred:
Experience with quadruped or humanoid robotics platforms, ROS, motion-capture, or simulation tools.
Experience supporting dealers, resellers, or channel partners with technical enablement.
