Electrical Engineer

Looking for a talented and motivated individual to conduct design, system integration and maintenance of our embedded hardware platforms for Space Orbital missions, Lunar Missions, Aerospace and Defense projects. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus! Bonus amount will be based on experience, qualifications, and role requirements. Payout terms and eligibility will be discussed during the offer process.Responsibilities Include:Develop and maintain controller operated digital and analog electronics in accordance with established company methodologies and processesRecommend and implement hardware solutions and improved practicesGuide mechanical engineering, hardware packaging, and board layout activitiesProvide feedback on hardware requirements related to design, time, feasibility, etc.Work with other team members to develop complete systems (hardware and software)Perform product design and development activities with a high degree of independence and creativity.Be responsible from start to finish of new product development including; product definition, design, parts selection and qualification.Formulate product designs using scientific analysis and mathematical models.Generate engineering documentation e.g. specification, schematics, layouts, BOM and qualification reportsAssist with development and testing of PC graphical user interfacesFollow programming guidelines and use a software version control systemDocument test plans and test resultsDesign test stand equipmentCoordinate and execute hardware releases, version upgrades, and custom interfaces according to company quality assurance practicesCreate and review design and product information including manuals and brochures for technical accuracyConsult with other engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system designsParticipate in product definition and review activitiesLead and mentor other team membersExperience Preferred3+ years recent experience in embedded hardware development in high-technology applicationsRecent hardware design experience; Design of 3+ boards in the last year.Analog and digital circuits experience.Some embedded systems software design experience.Motor control systems a plusBasic electrical and software engineering conceptsDesign, analysis and testing of controller operated digital and analog electronicsIGBTs, Mosfets, and other power drivers and current sensorsRelease management and document controlApplication lifecycle managementA/D and D/A convertersORCAD schematics toolFPGA and high-speed signal processingDigital Signal processing, control systems and digital filtersTCP/IP, C+/C++ knowledge a plusSensor-less motor control knowledge a plusQualificationsA hands-on, "get it done" attitudeStrong communication and leadership abilityAbility to work collaboratively with other engineering disciplinesCreativity and self-motivation to solve unique and complex technical problemsAbility to mentor entry-level engineersDesire to lead teams and be promoted to higher levels of responsibilityKnowledge of Microsoft products including Windows 7, Word, Excel, etc.Excellent oral and written English skillsU.S citizen or resident statusESI is a technology leader in cutting-edge servo motor control technology for extreme environments.
