Engineering Svcs Asst-Buyer
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Provides a wide range of clerical/administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the department. Performs all functions of a full cycle buyer/purchaser - manages departmental databases including data entry, report generation and audit/maintenance.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Clinical Engineering provides technical support to Samaritan Health Services patient care areas through the installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, performance assurance and repair of imaging, high energy and biomedical equipment.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two (2) years experience in a position of similar responsibility and complexity required.
Experience and/or training in computer applications required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Knowledge of / skilled in computer applications such as email, database, spreadsheet and word processing.
Knowledge of purchasing and inventory management and general accounting practices.
Knowledge of maintenance, electronic and medical terminology.
Knowledge of the concepts and principles of office management, the problem solving process and duty prioritization.
Ability to appropriately set priorities, use time effectively, and organize routine and urgent jobs to best meet the changing demands of the department and customers.
Possess tact and professionalism when dealing with a variety of people. Excellent communication skills for interacting with managers and staff, facilitating good customer relations, and maintaining open communication and reporting of important information.
