Slow Food Wind River Development VISTASlow Food Wind River's (SFWR) mission is to build a resilient local food economy that financially sustains farmers, ranchers and food artisans to provide fresh, nutritious, locally grown foods to our community. We support local food producers through Meadowlark Market and Kitchen and provide access to local food and education to the greater community. SFWR aims to improve access to fresh, local produce for all community members while supporting and showcasing locally produced products. We encourage producers and food entrepreneurs to reach larger markets and audiences; increase or maintain production in response to community needs; develop or test new products to meet community demand; and move abundant produce from a farm or backyard garden. SFWR engages in poverty alleviation efforts through empowering local farmers and growers with education and the opportunity to monetize their growing as well as providing fresh and affordable produce to Wind River communities. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.Member Duties : The VISTA member will grow capacity relating to SFWR's anti-poverty efforts through creating tools, processes and templates relating to leveraging funds, community awareness, and volunteer recruitment and retention. VISTA will build capacity for SFWR by strengthening fundraising, volunteer programs, and community partnerships. Create marketing and outreach materials, identify grant opportunities, and draft applications. Develop volunteer roles, training, and retention tools. Foster partnerships, lead outreach efforts, and produce newsletters and educational resources to engage donors, volunteers, and the broader community.
