The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. Supervision of licensed and non-licensed staff members is part of the role. Using the caring processes outlined by the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. Education and professional experience are applied in delivering quality care and mentoring or precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, implements, and reviews the plan of care as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patients. Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Facilitates, coordinates, provides, evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor or preceptor. Encourages and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
