SQL Server BI Developer / Data Migration Specialist

NAVA Software solutions is looking for a SQL Server BI Developer / Data Migration Specialist Details:SQL Server BI Developer / Data Migration SpecialistDuration: 12 monthsLocation: Remote - onsite visits may be required at key points in the project.The main responsibilities are:The Data Migration Specialist is responsible for migrating data from various data sources to an AMANDA database.The Data Migration Specialist is responsible for migrating data from Oracle to MS SQL Server database.The ideal candidate would have participated in large data migration projects, and have experience migrating data to MS SQL Server.Adhere to data standards and scripting standards set at the project levelAnalyze existing Oracle and MS Access databasesWork with Business Analysts to understand the requirements and identify gaps between requirements and data in existing databases.Map existing databases fields to new AMANDA database fieldsDocument and validate data mapping with the Project team.Develop and document the data migration plan in collaboration with Data Architect.Execute data migration plan by migrating data from the source databases to the AMANDA database.Apply the data governance rules as well as data retention policies to data migrationSupport efforts to cleanse source data via scripts and/or reports identifying data requiring manual cleansingReview AMANDA table structure based on the design in AMANDA for mapping the data from source to Amanda database structureCollaborate with other Data Migration Specialists and review each other's scripts to ensure consistencyTest data migration processes and validate data was migrated correctly.Manage data migration scripts by versioning them via source controlConstantly work to fine-tune data migration scripts to improve performance.Collaborate with the QA team on data migration activitiesCoordinate with Data Architect for various technical documentation Required SkillsMinimum 5 years' experience with Microsoft SQL ServerAbility to write complex SQL statements to query data in MS SQL server and OracleExperience writing SQL stored procedures and functionsAbility to tune SQL queries for better performanceExperience with Microsoft SSISKnowledge of T-SQLAbility to write complex SQL statementsExperience using version management tools (Git is a plus)Experience with Azure DevOpsExperience with Agile Methodology (Kanban is a plus)Knowledge of AMANDA database structure and table relationshipsExperience with AMANDA solution from Granicus (formerly Calytera) is a plus.Experience with MS SQL Server and Oracle databases (Highly Desired)
