Sr Software Engineer in Test

Position: Software Engineer in TestLocation: Westlake TX, Durham NC, Boston MA and Merrimack NH Duration: Long-Term ContractPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Software Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a technology team focused on building and enhancing a market-leading equity compensation platform. This role is ideal for a quality engineering professional with strong automation, and backend validation experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced Agile environment.As part of the Quality Engineering team, you will design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks while collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, maintain, and execute automated test frameworks.Validate UI, API, and microservices-based applications.Develop automation using Java, Python, Karate, Cucumber, Playwright, or similar frameworks.Create and execute test cases for REST APIs and enterprise messaging systems.Collaborate with development teams throughout the SDLC in an Agile environment.Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing initiatives.Ensure software quality through automation, regression, integration, and performance testing.Drive continuous improvements in testing practices, quality, and delivery processes.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.6+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering or Test Automation.Strong experience with ETL Testing and Data Lake environments.Experience testing Business Intelligence/Reporting solutions (Power BI or similar).Strong knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.Programming experience in Java or Python.Experience with automation frameworks such as Karate, Cucumber, or similar.Experience with Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript for UI automation.Strong understanding of REST APIs, Microservices architecture, Kafka, or ActiveMQ.Experience working with CI/CD and DevOps tools.Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.Preferred QualificationsExperience with GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted development tools.Strong understanding of automation best practices and testing methodologies.Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Desired Technical SkillsJavaSQLOraclePlaywrightTypeScriptJavaScriptKarateCucumberREST APIsMicroservicesKafkaActiveMQCI/CDDevOpsGitAgile/ScrumWhat You'll BringPassion for software quality and automation.Strong ownership and accountability.Ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams.Continuous learning mindset and enthusiasm for emerging technologies.Commitment to delivering scalable, reliable, and high-quality software.
