Position Details: Job Title: Locum Tenens - Gastroenterology Physician Location: Near Grand Junction, Colorado Start Date: Flexible, with availability required on specific dates End Date: June 2025 (with potential for extension) Shifts: Day shifts (8a-5p), night call (5p-7a), and 24-hour weekend call (7a-7a) Available dates include December 2024, March, April, May, and June 2025 Approximately 14 shifts per month, subject to provider availability Job Requirements: Board Certification: Gastroenterology (required) Licensure: Active Colorado medical license preferred, but assistance available for licensing if necessary DEA Certification: Required for credentialing (must be maintained throughout the assignment) Fellowship: Gastroenterology fellowship required Experience: Preference for candidates with experience in treating IBD patients Scope and Volume: Expected to perform 12-16 scopes per day in procedure rooms Patient volume: 10-15 patients per day in clinic Responsibilities: Perform endoscopies, colonoscopies, manometry, flex sigmoidoscopies, and 24-hour pH probes Document all procedures, complete orders including pathology, and maintain accurate and timely records in the EPIC EMR system Collaborate with a support team of RNs, MAs, and NP/PAs Schedule & Compensation: Daily Rate: Competitive, hourly and call rates apply Weekend and Holiday 24-Hour Call: Enhanced rates provided Orientation and Training: Half-rate compensation after 8 hours for mandatory EMR training Travel and Lodging: Covered, with caps on airfare, rental car, and lodging reimbursement Additional Requirements: Background Check: Clean record required Malpractice: Site covers malpractice for up to three cases, NPDB report required EMR Training: Completion of required EPIC EMR modules and virtual training Why This Opportunity?
