Senior Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Austin's Communication Station is now hiring a Licensed, quality Full-Time Experienced Occupational Therapist We are a private, non-corporate clinic providing pediatric speech and occupational therapy services to children with disabilities and their families. We are a therapist-owned, family-oriented practice with a supportive, dedicated, and friendly staff. We are conveniently located in Central Austin near Mopac and 183. We are expanding and we are in need of more therapists! Qualified candidates should be Texas licensed or eligible for licensure in the state. Pediatric experience and continuing education in the areas of sensory processing and autism are preferred; however, exceptional new graduates will be considered. Job duties include evaluation and treatment of children 0-21 yrs old with a variety of pediatric disabilities. Strong TEAMwork skills a MUST! A diverse caseload offers the therapist opportunities to utilize a variety of treatment approaches: small groups, co-treatment, feeding and sensory integration. Program development and on-going professional growth encouraged and supported. Occupational Therapist (OTR) Position Summary: OTR assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides occupational therapy evaluations and treatments in accordance with the established policies of the clinic and standards and code of ethics set in place by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners. The staff OTR may be assigned to lead staff, students, visitors, volunteers and/or assistants. OTR is required to use select knowledge and skills in order to plan and direct treatment programs for individuals with varied levels of motoric and sensory impairment. OTR is responsible for accurately assessing clients’ needs, identifying and initiating appropriate interventions, providing the family with education, and working cooperatively with other members of staff. These functions must be carried out in accordance to clinic policy and procedures as well as the clinic’s mission.
