Assistant Project Manager

Company DescriptionA family owned commercial an industrial electrical contractor in the Gilbert, Arizona market is accepting applications for the position of entry-level or mid-level Assistant Project Manager. This is a hands-on role in the corporate office that will work directly with project managers.Responsibilities:Writing and issuing official RFI’s (requests for information)Securing, creating, and issuing submittalManagement of project drawing, ensuring that the office and the field have the most current versionIncludes updating Bluebeam or PlanGridDevelop standard processesCreating/maintaining of submittal Archive of standard documents of products used to submit onCreating templates on how to do certain submittalsProject managementAssist the Project Manager in developing project schedules, timelines, and milestones using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft ProjectHelp prepare and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reportsAssisting project billing with CFO and or Billing teamAttending OAC (Owner, Architect, Contractor) meeting and providing updates on deliverable as well as coordinating with field personnelDiscussing needs with clients/GCs (General Contractors) and assisting in addressing those needsManaging Change and tracking contract values with change orders to ensure contract amount is accurate with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) softwareCoordinate with engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project alignmentMeeting with panel shop crew regularly to ensure all procured parts are received and functioning per design intentProcurementSupport procurement activities including material takeoffs, purchase orders, and equipment trackingReleasing approved submittal equipment and providing tracking to field and clientSecuring missing procurement items that were not picked up in the estimateSecuring individual items for control panels via vendors or websitesCommunication & ReportingMaintain clear and consistent communication between field crews, project management, and clientsAttend and participate in owner, GC, and internal project meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutesSales CallsAnswering the All-call phone when Front desk staff are not presentField sales calls should the assigned PM not be availableSending information over to associated PM of opportunity to follow up onVisit with vendors that come to shop should other PMs not be availablePreconstruction assistanceAssist estimating team on securing bids from vendors for projectsAssist estimating team on Take offs and assembling bids/ proposalsField correspondence from bidding system to tracking log and estimating teamAttend job walks with clients as neededAssist in evaluation of bid invitations to determine if they will be pursued or notAssist in final review of project prior to be sent to clientPreferred Skills, Qualifications & CertificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Construction management, or a related field (or equivalent field experience)2–5 years of experience in industrial electrical construction (petrochemical, manufacturing, power generation, water/waste water, data centers, etc.)Working knowledge of the NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA electrical safety standardsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore and BluebeamOSHA 30-Hour Construction certificationStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to read and interpret electrical construction drawings and specificationsJourneyman ElectricianExperience with industrial systems: 480V–15kV distribution, instrumentation, PLC/SCADA integrationExperience working on union job sites and familiarity with IBEW labor agreementsSalaryEntry-level (0–2 years): $60,000 – $75,000/yrMid-level (3–5 years): $75,000 – $90,000/yr, plus bonus. Benefits include health insurance, matching 401(k) and profit sharing plan, and paid time off.
