Product Design Engineer I

Summary/Objective:Samson is a global leading manufacturer of control valves and associated instrumentation, smart devices, and solutions for various process industries such as chemical, petrochemical, food & beverage, industrial gases, as well as many others.The Product Design Engineer I will work with the product management team and production engineering team to design and develop valves and associated components for both existing product ranges as well as new product developments. The Product Design Engineer I will also contribute to relevant documentation such as dimensional drawings, product renderings, 3D models, and other product design-related tasks.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop products new products based on project roadmaps and specificationsDesign and develop components for existing products for ETO (“Engineered to Order”) customer ordersCoordinate with product managers and production engineers to evaluate product designsPerform testing and analysis to help improve product designSupport in other engineering-related tasks as requiredCompetencies:Proficient in CAD tools (predominantly SolidWorks) and MS Office SuiteStrong grasp of fluid dynamics, mechanics, and thermodynamicsGood communication skillsEducation & Experience:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 2 years of experience working in a related mechanical engineering design fieldKnowledge of ASME BPVC, API, and associated design codes is preferredSAMSON Controls, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
