Production Engineer (Houston)

United Valve, a leading provider of valve repair, modification and testing services, is seeking a mechanical engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. Successful candidates will use prior engineering skills relevant to the valve industry to assist both the Engineering and Production Departments with testing, design, project management and overall improvements in safety and production efficiency.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist both engineering testing and production testing departments in areas including, but not limited to, hydro/pressure testing, engineering services (fugitive emissions, fire, cryogenic, RP 591) and NDTProvide engineering expertise and support through designing, reverse engineering, failure analysis, technical document writing, sales quotations, production scheduling and overall engineering related shop improvementsHelp plan, implement and document major turnaround projectsHelp plan, implement and document smaller projects requiring special attention and oversight from higher levels of managementWork with production, engineering and purchasing to efficiently complete projects on time and under budget while providing quality productsAssist both customers and UV employees with the tools necessary to complete jobs and understand the work being performedRework and implement new production procedures to ensure compliance with the latest valve standards defined in API, MSS and ISO documentsActively participate in insuring standards are up to date and all safety factors are compliant.Education and/or Experience:Degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, industrial engineering or other engineering related degreeMinimum 2-5 years' experience in valve design and/or pressure vesselsProficiency in CADExperience in Inventor a plusStrong mechanical aptitudeHighly OrganizedStrong attention to detailDedication to quality workmanshipDedication to a safe work environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with pneumatic and electric actuators a plusPhysical Demands and Qualifications:· Must be able to move and or lift parts up to 30 pounds· Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, lift and carryCompany Overview:United Valve is a valve service company founded in 1961, located in Houston, Texas, providing valve service and testing solutions to customers on the Gulf Coast and throughout the Western Hemisphere.United Valve is an equal opportunity employer.
