Position OverviewThe Logistics Coordinator / General Cargo Account Specialist serves as the single point of contact for assigned general cargo customers, managing the full service lifecycle from inbound shipment coordination through final delivery.This role blends logistics and account management, requiring strong communication, organization, and operational problem-solving skills. The Logistics Coordinator / General Cargo Account Specialist works cross-functionally with customers, warehouse operations, transportation, and other internal teams to ensure shipments are received accurately, tracked in real time, and delivered on schedule.This is a high-ownership role responsible for maintaining and growing the business within a dynamic 3PL environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAccount ManagementServe as the primary point of contact as the Logistics Coordinator / General Cargo Account Specialist for all assigned general cargo customers Own customer relationships from onboarding through ongoing service delivery Build trust and identify opportunities to expand services and increase account value Inbound CoordinationSchedule and manage inbound shipments Coordinate with customers, carriers, and warehouse teams to ensure efficient receipt and staging Monitor inbound schedules and proactively communicate delays or changes Inventory Management & System EntryReceive and record cargo in the company’s WMS/inventory platform Maintain accurate, lot-level inventory records and customer-specific segregation Ensure real-time inventory visibility and data integrity Outbound & Delivery CoordinationArrange outbound shipments using company-owned fleet or customer-designated carriers Prepare Bills of Lading (BOLs) and all required shipping documentation Track shipments through final delivery and provide status updates Customer ReportingDeliver regular inventory reports and activity summaries Provide real-time updates on inbound/outbound activity and exceptions Utilize system reporting tools to enhance transparency and customer satisfaction Problem ResolutionOwn service issues from identification through resolution Collaborate with warehouse, transportation, and billing teams to resolve discrepancies Communicate clearly and proactively with customers regarding solutions What Makes This Role UniqueFull-Service 3PL EnvironmentOwned warehouse infrastructure Integrated WMS technology Dedicated transportation assets Fleet AdvantageAccess to a company-owned fleet (dry vans, reefers, and flatbeds) allows the Logistics Coordinator / General Cargo Account Specialist to:Maintain greater control over delivery timelines Reduce reliance on third-party carriers Provide enhanced service reliability in a tight carrier market Rail-Served FacilityThe operation includes an active Class I rail spur, enabling the Logistics Coordinator / General Cargo Account Specialist to:Support customers with inbound rail freight Expand into specialized logistics solutions Leverage a capability that is rare among competitors Established & Growing Operation188,000 sq. ft. primary warehouse with active rail access Additional 224,000+ sq. ft. facility on an 11+acre site Diverse customer base across multiple commodity categories Mix of import throughput, long-term storage, and structured 3PL services The Logistics Coordinator / General Cargo Account Specialist will inherit an existing portfolio of customers and is expected to strengthen relationships and drive growth.QualificationsRequired2–5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or account management Strong understanding of transportation and warehouse operations Experience with WMS or inventory management systems Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment PreferredExperience in 3PL or freight brokerage environments Familiarity with rail logistics or intermodal transportation Customer-facing account management experience Knowledge of BOLs, shipping documentation, and freight processes
