International Commercial Director (experienced with Business development in Allergy inmunotherapy vaccines)

Our client is a biopharmaceutical company specialized in allergen immunotherapy and allergy diagnostics, with a strong industrial heritage and a clear commitment to scientific excellence, quality, innovation, and international growth.Our cliente operates from its manufacturing and R&D facilities located in Leganés (Madrid, Spain), which function under the highest pharmaceutical regulatory and GMP compliance standards. Since its acquisition by a Chinese Pharmaceutical company in 2023, the company and the plant in Madrid has become the headquarters for the new ownwer operations outside China and a key strategic platform for the group’s international expansion.The company currently commercializes its products in approximately 40 countries and is accelerating its development across Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, Asia, and selected emerging markets.Within this international growth and transformation context, the company is seeking to appoint an International Commercial Director, reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer / European President.This role will lead the international commercial expansion strategy across Extended Europe and Eurasia while supporting growth initiatives in additional strategic regions. The position combines strategic commercial leadership, distributor network transformation, business development, and market acceleration responsibilities.The company is looking for a highly strategic and hands-on international commercial leader capable of acting as a true growth catalyst across multiple regions and channels.MISSIONThe Global Commercial Director will be responsible for accelerating international commercial growth by redesigning and optimizing distributor structures, identifying scalable multi-country commercial partnerships, and driving market penetration across highly diverse and regulated markets.The role will combine strategic leadership with operational execution, acting as an internal growth accelerator for international markets and supporting both existing and emerging commercial operations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. International Commercial Strategy & LeadershipDefine and implement the international commercial strategy across Europe, Eurasia, and selected strategic markets.Lead international expansion initiatives aligned with WORG’s global growth objectives.Drive sustainable revenue growth through distributor optimization and market development strategies.Support the company’s long-term international transformation and commercial scaling process.2. Distributor Network Development & OptimizationRedesign and optimize fragmented distributor networks across multiple international markets.Identify, negotiate, and develop strategic multi-country distribution partnerships.Evaluate distributor performance and implement scalable regional structures.Simplify international commercial operations by consolidating distributor relationships where appropriate.Support local partners in commercial execution, market access, and growth acceleration initiatives.3. Business Development & Market ExpansionIdentify and accelerate entry into new international markets and business opportunities.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prioritize strategic territories and commercial models.Support development initiatives in emerging regions including Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Middle East, Latin America, Africa, and other selected international markets.Act as an internal consultant and catalyst for international growth opportunities.4. Commercial Excellence & Market DevelopmentSupport distributors and regional teams in developing go-to-market strategies adapted to local market dynamics.Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and international growth opportunities.Contribute to commercial planning, forecasting, and international revenue development.Coordinate with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Marketing, and Supply Chain functions to ensure effective market execution.5. Leadership & Team ManagementLead and develop Regional Managers responsible for Northern Europe, Southern Europe, and Eurasia.Build collaborative and performance-oriented international commercial structures.Influence cross-functional and matrix teams across multiple geographies.Promote an agile, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented culture.6. Compliance & GovernanceEnsure all commercial activities comply with pharmaceutical regulations, compliance standards, and ethical guidelines.Collaborate with Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment with local market requirements and global corporate standards.CANDIDATE PROFILEStrong international commercial leadership experience within pharma or biotech.Mandatory experience within Allergy Immunotherapy, Allergy, Immunology, Respiratory, or closely related specialty therapeutics.Previous experience in companies within Allergy Immunotherapy, Allergy, Immunology, Respiratory, or closely related specialty therapeutics.Strong expertise managing international distributor-based business models.Proven experience driving growth across multiple countries and complex international markets.Strategic mindset combined with strong operational and execution capabilities.Entrepreneurial, flexible, and highly autonomous profile.Experience working within multicultural and matrix organizations.Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.Fluent English required.Spanish is not mandatory.Willingness to travel internationally approximately 70% of the time.LOCATIONFully remote position.Candidates require EU citizenship may reside anywhere in Europe.COMPENSATION PACKAGECompetitive fixed salary.Annual performance bonus.Company carMedical insurance.Life insurance.ABOUT OUR CLIENTOur client is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to advancing therapies in allergy, immunology, and biologics.With headquarters in Shanghai and Madrid and a growing international network of affiliates and subsidiaries, they combines scientific innovation with a patient-centric approach to deliver life-changing healthcare solutions worldwide.
