Supplemental Full-time Learning Support Teacher (2026-2027 School Year)

This position will begin at the start of the 2026-2027 school year.SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our district. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with diverse learning needs and the ability to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. This role requires collaboration with parents, staff, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that foster academic and social growth for students with disabilities.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.Assess students' progress and adapt instructional strategies to meet their educational goals.Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, life skills, and social skills as outlined in IEPs.Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and participation, providing regular updates to parents and guardians.Create and maintain a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learning.Utilize various teaching methods and resources to engage students and accommodate different learning styles.Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities within the school and community.Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to support students' needs beyond the classroom.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
