Senior Industrial Engineer

Job Description We are seeking a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Industrial Engineer to provide expert-level support for a critical project supporting a major U.S. defense organization. The ideal candidate will be located within the commuting area of Huntsville, AL (Redstone Arsenal); however, remote telework will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates. This role involves working closely with military and civilian stakeholders to support modernization efforts across multiple facilities and installations. The position requires direct interaction with government stakeholders and use of government-furnished equipment on a secure network. Key Responsibilities Provide technical expertise to assist in the modernization and management of industrial equipment and facilities. Support the development and analysis of capital investment program requirements and project justifications. Conduct strategic reviews and provide recommendations on equipment modernization, including lifecycle management decisions and prioritization. Perform inventory evaluations, analyze existing data, and provide technical oversight of project validation processes. Develop and present formal and informal briefings to senior stakeholders within the organization. Coordinate with other stakeholders to ensure all requirements are synchronized, planned, and programmed. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and equipment modernization. Ensure compliance with security requirements, including maintaining and utilizing government-furnished equipment. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field from an accredited university (required). Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting similar projects, preferably within a defense, federal, or military environment. Experience with Army Materiel Command (AMC) or similar defense organizations is highly desirable. Security Clearance: Must possess an active SECRET security clearance (required). The candidate must be able to maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) for access to government systems and pass a background check. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in data analysis, capital investment planning, and management of industrial equipment and facilities. Additional Requirements: Ability to perform tasks that support the tracking of the execution of Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects and related reporting. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging with senior military and civilian personnel. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Must have the ability to use and maintain government-furnished IT equipment, connected to the AMC Network. Work Environment The position is based in Huntsville, AL, with preference for in-person support. Remote telework will be considered for highly qualified candidates who can meet all requirements. Occasional travel may be required for on-site meetings and briefings (minimal travel expected). Security Requirements Must have an active SECRET security clearance. Must be eligible for and able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
