Job Details:Role: Mainframe Utilities DeveloperLocation : Phoenix, AZ metro area; hybrid working modelStart date : ASAPContract to hire (Client employee after 6 months)The Role:We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Utilities Developer to design, develop, and optimize utility programs that support data processing, system operations, and batch workloads on IBM z/OS environments. This role focuses on building reusable utilities, enhancing performance, and ensuring efficient data handling across enterprise systems.Key Responsibilities:Vendor software Tool Administrator for: BMC DevX Code Pipeline/ISPW, BMC Topaz Workbench, IBM IDz v17.* , CA-JCLCHECK.Demonstrate technical expertise and knowledge.Lead resolution processes for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.Develop technical solutions, automation of processes and lead individual or small team initiatives.Utilize and extend standard IBM and ISV utilities such as:DFSORT / SyncsortIDCAMSIEBGENER / IEBCOPY / SORT utilitiesRequired Qualifications:5 8+ years of mainframe experience3+ years focused on utilities development / batch processingStrong Experience With:IBM z/OS environmentHands-on Expertise In:JCL and batch processingDFSORT / SyncsortIDCAMS and IBM utilitiesExperience Building:Data processing utilitiesETL batch processesStrong troubleshooting and debugging skills for batch environmentsExperience with: Mainframe z/OS and Horizon platforms, z/OS USS, z/OS Connect, Jenkins, Ansible, IDZ and/or Eclipse based software.Knowledge Of The Following:REXX and REXX Skeletons, COBOLPython, Java, Javascript, SQLzOS Connect, Utilities and Software: IBM, Broadcom, BMCKnowledge On The Following SCM's:BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline (ISPW)BMC AMI DevX WorkbenchBroadcom EndevorRocket Changeman (formerly Serena)IBM Developer for zOS (IDz)Preferred Experience:Familiarity with: DB2, IMS, VSAM, sequential datasetsExperience With:File-AID, Easytrieve, ICETOOLScheduling tools (CA-7, Control-M, TWS)Knowledge of Automation frameworks (REXX, Python)Experience with Large-scale data processing / ETL pipelines on mainframeExposure to Mainframe modernization and DevOps initiativesKnowledge Of The Following:zOS Unix/Unix System Services: BashHFS/ZFS FilesystemUnix PermissionsSSHGeneral:JavaJavascriptPythonGitHubBitBucketVSCodeZoweConfluenceTCP/IPSPLUNK/ELK
