Personal Care Assistant - Preschool (As of 7/1/2026 $18.91 per hour)
Teacher Assistant As a Teacher Assistant at LIU, this role plays an essential part in enhancing students' educational experience by supporting instruction, helping implement lesson plans, and fostering a positive learning environment. It also helps maintain continuity in the educational program established by the teacher. Through dedication to student success and close collaboration with the teaching team, this position contributes to a dynamic and supportive learning atmosphere. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in first aid and CPR Experience working with preschool-aged children with special needs, preferred Must be comfortable engaging in active, hands-on support, including frequently transitioning to and from floor Maintain a high level of energy, attentiveness, and responsiveness throughout the day Must have or obtain and maintain certificate in LIU-approved crisis management and intervention program, preferred Must obtain additional competency as mandated by PA Dept. of Education (within one year from date of hire) Must complete twenty (20) hours of professional development related to assignment each year Patience, flexibility, and positive attitude Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff Terms of Employment: Full-time, 7 hours/day, 190 days/year stretch schedule. The preschool program follows a unique stretch schedule to include summer. Salary: As of 7/1/2026 $18.91 per hour (those assigned to Franklin Learning Center, Paradise, or the York Learning Center will earn an additional $0.25/hr.)
