E-Sports Head Coach

E-Sports Head CoachThis position will be responsible for developing and launching the E-Sports program and is in charge of recruiting student-players, managing the budget, overseeing the general operations, coaching, and building the program identity. The Head Coach reports to the Assistant to the President of Ranger College This position will work with the Assistant to the President to devise a competition schedule each year and strategize on game selection.The preferred candidate will have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Travel for team tournaments and recruiting will be required.E-SPORTS JOB DUTIES:Recruit and retain students for the E-Sports programCollaborate with other on-campus departments including, but not limited to, theIT Department, Marketing, and Communications Initiate and run practice, competition, and team building activitiesOversee and manage program budgetProvide guidance and input on games selected for varsity and non-varsity competitionOffer regular feedback on equipment upgrades, updates, and maintenanceCoordinate off-season activity, practice schedules, and competition schedulesOrganize team travel when requiredConduct camps, clinics, and promotional events to help market the program to potential students and donorsMonitor and mentor the academic and mental well-being of playersPursue sponsorship opportunitiesReview agreements, contract deadlines, rules, and compliance within any associated league, conference, and affiliates.Enforces the NJCAAE "Code of Conduct" policies for all students.Ensure all persons and functions of the program exemplify the character and mission of Ranger CollegeQUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in a Technology related field requiredAt least one-year competitive eSports experience involving team-based multiplayer online video gamesAt least one-year working in a technology related fieldExpert knowledge of multiple NJCAEE competition gamesCoaching or teaching experience preferredExperience recruiting high school or college students preferredAbility to work with a diverse community of students, faculty, administrators and professional colleaguesDemonstrated initiative and creativityStrong relationship-building skillsProficient written and oral communication skillsProficient organizational skillsA valid driver's license and ability to travelANNUAL SALARY/BENEFITS: Highly competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials.
