Responsibilities include coaching student-athletes, overseeing recruiting and program logistics, supporting athletic events, and ensuring compliance with NCAA, conference, and university regulations. The role also serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and requires flexibility beyond standard hours based on program needs.Key ResponsibilitiesCoaching & Athlete Development (50%)Coach student-athletes individually and in team settingsDevelop game strategies, techniques, and position assignmentsPlan and conduct practices in compliance with NCAA and conference rulesTeach fundamentals, physical conditioning, safety, and team dynamicsMonitor athlete discipline, conduct, and academic/behavioral expectationsEnsure adherence to NCAA, conference, and university policiesProgram Operations & Recruitment (25%)Manage recruiting efforts and athlete evaluationsCoordinate team travel, scheduling, and logisticsOversee program budget and equipment managementLead game-day preparation activitiesPromote the program through outreach, fundraising, marketing, and community engagementGame Administration (20%)Assist with hosting and managing athletic events at Tarleton State UniversitySupport game operations and compliance during eventsAdditional Duties (5%)Perform other assigned responsibilities as neededMinimum RequirementsRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Minimum of five (5) years of golf coaching experienceRequired Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesStrong leadership and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance standards.Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes.Proficiency in video analysis and performance technology.PreferredPreferred Education and ExperiencePrevious Division 1 golf coaching experience. Other RequirementsWork is normally performed in a gymnasium or game field setting with extensive travel to/from away matches required, as well as extensive travel for recruiting.General Expectations Of PositionConduct is expected to be professional and courteous.
