Infotainment Validation Engineer (Android)
Key ResponsibilitiesReproduce partner-reported and test-driving issues on partner benches, Google reference hardware, and Google vehicles.Execute full regression testing and feature-specific validation for Android Automotive platforms.Perform stationary testing on infotainment head units using lab benches and stationary vehicles.Conduct vehicle testing and road testing based on Google-defined validation procedures.Create detailed bug reports, test reports, and perform preliminary root cause analysis.Develop and maintain test plans, validation plans, and test execution documentation.Track testing progress and report results through Google-powered dashboards.Flash and update vehicle software according to Google documentation and release guidelines.Evaluate and review test cases executed by both self and other Android Automotive team members.Maintain locale-specific test cases (language, regional settings, local equipment, etc.).Maintain OEM-specific test cases for Google Automotive Services (GAS) pre-release validation.Support infotainment validation across Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments.Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve production-quality issues.Ensure compliance with Android Automotive quality standards and validation processes.Required Technical SkillsAndroid Virtual Device (AVD)Android Testing & DebuggingAndroid Debug Bridge (ADB Commands)Android Build SystemFunctional TestingBug Reporting & Root Cause AnalysisTest Planning & ValidationAndroid Framework EcosystemAndroid Compatibility Test Frameworks (CDD, VTS, ATS)Required Qualifications6–8 years of experience in Android testing and quality engineering.Strong knowledge of Android Automotive architecture and debugging.Hands-on experience with infotainment testing and validation.Experience with Android compatibility frameworks such as CDD, VTS, and ATS.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and defect analysis skills.Ability to create comprehensive test plans and validation strategies.Experience working with Google reference hardware is preferred.Valid driver's license and willingness to perform vehicle-based testing (where applicable).
