Laser Weld Operator

Schedule: 2nd Shift-Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2amKey Responsibilities (Summary)Perform hand laser welding on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel materialsPrepare and inspect materials to ensure quality prior to weldingSet up and adjust welding equipment based on material specificationsInspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standardsExecute various weld types (butt, lap, fillet) per project requirementsFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environmentHandle and move materials safely during productionMonitor production workflow and complete required reports and documentationRecord production data and maintain accurate system entries (e.g., ERP systems)Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and timelinesFollow SOPs and work instructions for all processesMaintain and perform routine upkeep on welding equipmentComplete additional tasks as assignedBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredBasic understanding of measuring tools and weld inspection techniquesAbility to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and engineering drawingsFamiliarity with various grades of aluminum and their welding requirementsStrong knowledge of shop safety procedures and proper PPE usageAbility to follow instructions and work under supervisionCapable of welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positionsBasic computer skillsAbility to assess welded structures and components for defectsExperience welding small and large components (mild steel, aluminum, stainless steel)Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions in EnglishAdditional QualificationsCompletion of a welding course or vocational training program preferredAbility to perform basic math for interpreting process sheets, SOPs, and tracking materials and scrapPhysical ability to lift up to 50 pounds intermittentlyAbility to stand, bend, reach, and lift frequentlyMust be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screeningNesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.Nesco Resource provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
