Java Software Developer - SUNNYVALE / SAN JOSE, CACandidate must work Sunnyvale / San Jose CA site In-PersonRequired to be ON-SITE as needed to support FABExperience: 5+ Years in Java development, Manufacturing FAB backgroundMUST have prior written approval from Nokia to work overtime (8 hours per day / 40 hours week)Manufacturing FAB background -Manufacturing fab is a specialized facility where microchips, semiconductors, and integrated circuits are built on silicon wafers.Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and proactive Java Developer to join our team on a contract basis. This role requires strong technical expertise in Java development and the proven ability to lead and guide offshore development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, JavaScript and Java Servlet technologies, experience with web services, and a solid understanding of the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural pattern.This is a 1-year contract position, with the potential for extension for an additional year.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance Java applications.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features and enhancements.Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following established best practices and coding standards.Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure code quality and consistency.Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to an offshore development team, ensuring alignment with project goals and timely delivery of tasks.Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.Implement and enhance front-end user interfaces using JavaScript and the ExtJS framework.Develop and consume web services (SOAP/REST) to integrate various systems and components.Manage and optimize database interactions with Oracle 19c (Earlier versions would work aswell).Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to ensure optimal performance and security.Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural discussions.Utilize the Eclipse IDE for development and deploy applications on Tomcat servers.Required Skills and Experience:Extensive experience with Java Servlets and JSP for server-side & UI development.Proficiency in front-end development using JavaScript and the ExtJS framework.Experience with developing and consuming Web Services (SOAP/REST).Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, SVN, Perforce).Databases: Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c, including writing SQL queries and Stored Procedures.Application Servers: Experience with deployment and configuration on Tomcat servers, Jenkins for build/release.Development Tools: Proficient in using Eclipse IDE, creating separate workspaces.Architectural Patterns: Solid understanding and practical application of the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural pattern.Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Communication: Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
