The successful candidate will be a hands-on subject matter expert, leading all SEC reporting processes pre- and post-IPO, including the preparation of various SEC filings and driving the implementation of a repeatable SEC reporting process. This role demands a highly technical, detail-oriented individual with a strong background in property and casualty insurance accounting, who can also provide strategic support and potentially lead a small team in the future. Key responsibilities include technical accounting evaluations, SOX implementation, and maintaining the company's accounting policies in compliance with GAAP and regulatory frameworks. Applicants for this role at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, with a CPA strongly preferred, and at least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, particularly in SEC reporting. Direct experience with 10-K and 10-Q filings is essential, as is a strong understanding of industry-specific accounting and reporting expectations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of interpreting and applying new accounting standards, and experience in supporting IPO readiness or public company reporting. A hands-on mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally are also required.
