Senior Legal CounselHartford, CT | Hybrid$225,000+ plus bonus We’re currently working on a Senior Legal Counsel level opportunity supporting a PE-backed global insurance platform with global operations.The position reports into a Deputy General Counsel and supports both the P&C and Life businesses, with direct exposure to senior leadership and to corporate transactions touching cross-border regulatory regimes. It’s a corporate transactional seat with real deal flow and a great opportunity for someone who wants to step out of private practice or into a more commercially oriented in-house environment within a sophisticated, sponsor-backed platform.Responsibilities:Advising on corporate transactions across multiple jurisdictions including financing, M&A, disposals, and restructuring exercises tied to portfolio acquisitionsSupporting investments-related legal work and banking and finance arrangementsDrafting and negotiating insurance and reinsurance contractsProviding multi-jurisdictional regulatory and compliance guidance to Group and regional functionsManaging external counsel and reviewing legal advice from the wider in-house legal teamPartnering with the three Deputy Group General Counsel across corporate, regulatory, and commercial mattersQualifications:Qualified lawyer with 6+ years’ PQE from a top tier international law firm or equivalent in-house functionStrong corporate / M&A foundation, ideally with insurance, reinsurance, or financial services exposureExperience operating across multiple jurisdictions and with senior internal stakeholdersStrong academic background; admitted to practice in a US jurisdiction Specific experience within financial services institutions desirable but not essential
