Based on values such as trust, appreciation, and accountability we all work together to shape the future – boldly, customer-focused and with a strong team spirit.Job DescriptionUnder direct supervision of the Senior Engineering Manager for Acoustics, the position is responsible for mechanical and acoustic design of Electro-Voice microphones and loudspeakers.Design and develop Electro-Voice microphones and microphone accessories.Support the design of Electro-Voice loudspeaker products as requiredDeliver designed and optimized product solutions following projects from conception to mass productionResearch potential new technologies and materials related to microphone and loudspeaker designModel and simulate acoustical and mechanical components of microphones and loudspeakers using SolidWorks, MATLAB, COMSOL and other simulation softwareWork with factories and vendors to optimize designs for manufacturabilityCollaborate with multi-functional teams across multiple time zonesSupport evaluation of new suppliers and maintenance of existing vendorsPerform testing and design verification on components and complete microphone/loudspeaker systems to achieve functional and reliable final productsPerform failure mode and root cause analysis to support microphone and loudspeaker developmental testing. Provide testing expertise and analysis support to the quality and service departments in resolving ongoing quality issues, should they arise.Create and manage mechanical assembly documentation, including 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills Of Materials (BOMs)Draft, submit, and negotiate the approval of Engineering Change Orders in accordance with established Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) policiesVerify complete products for conformance to design specifications, including operational and safety standards such as CE, UL, Eurocode, EN1991-4, DGUV Rev. 17, ANSI 1.8-2018, ISO 12100:2010(E)Work with manufacturing to improve quality, maintain production regularity, reduce costs and support sample buildsJob duties and requirements may be subject to modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities. Electro-Voice/Dynacord LLC reserves the right to revise or change job duties and responsibilities as the need arises.QualificationsRequiredMinimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or similar5 or more years' experience designing, modeling, simulating and mechanical systems or acoustic systems and their components5 or more years' experience developing products using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks)5 or more years' experience designing and testing microphones and/or loudspeaker systemsExperience with plastics molding, steel forming, aluminum casting, and machining manufacturing methodsAbility to travel internationally up to 15% of timeMust be able to work in-office full timeKnowledge of the latest industry standards and innovations in microphone and loudspeaker technologyExperience with interdisciplinary teamwork including project management, quality, purchasing, and logisticsPreferredExperience with multi-physics FEA software. Solidworks FEA and/or COMSOLExperience drafting risk assessments. DFMEA, PFMEA and Machine Directive (ISO12100)Experience with basic analog electronicsExperience with fastening and adhesivesExperience working with UL,CE, or other certifying bodiesFamiliarity with wood box manufacturing techniquesExperience performing static analysis of mechanical structurePassion for musicAdditional Information&#x200B;&#x200B;&#x200B;&#x200B;&#x200B;&#x200B;The salary range for this position is $93,000-$110,000 annually.
