Accounting Manager
Job Title: Accounting Manager Reports To: Managing Director Location: (Remote - Residing in DFW) with initial in-person meetings twice per week and on-site client support as needed per an agreed-upon schedule. Position Summary The Accounting Manager is responsible for the overall financial management of assigned clients. Required Qualifications Active CPA license 3+ years of public accounting experience In-depth knowledge of QuickBooks Online Reside in the DFW area, with availability to meet in person at least twice weekly during the initial period and attend client sites as needed per an agreed-upon schedule Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and professionally Ability to work independently, identify required tasks, and complete work efficiently Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to manage administrative details that support team effectiveness Client-focused, forward-thinking approach Interest in and willingness to develop business development skills through training and mentorship Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business or a closely related field Experience supporting transactions, including buy/sell activity or due diligence Essential Job Functions Identify and establish month-end close processes for new clients Create and maintain charts of accounts (COA) aligned with client needs; direct changes with staff accountants Identify required client filings, including federal, state, and local income, sales tax, and other compliance requirements Lead payroll and sales tax filings as specified by clients Restore prior-period financials as necessary in collaboration with managers and staff Review monthly reconciliations to prepare financial statements and present results to clients Process payroll and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual filings Support accounts payable functions, ensuring 1099 compliance Lead process improvement initiatives to improve financial transparency (e.g., COA design, reconciliations, new entity setup) Provide forward-looking, client-centered recommendations Administer sales tax requirements as needed Provide feedback and guidance to staff accountants Respond to client inquiries in a timely and thoughtful manner (mandatory 24-hour response time) Attend weekly team meetings and monitor communications daily Track task progress in ClickUp and meet agreed-upon deadlines
