Accounting Manager

Job Title: Accounting ManagerReports To: Managing DirectorLocation: (Remote - Residing in DFW) with initial in-person meetings twice per week and on-site client support as needed per an agreed-upon schedule.Position SummaryThe Accounting Manager is responsible for the overall financial management of assigned clients.Required QualificationsActive CPA license3+ years of public accounting experienceIn-depth knowledge of QuickBooks OnlineReside in the DFW area, with availability to meet in person at least twice weekly during the initial period and attend client sites as needed per an agreed-upon scheduleStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and professionallyAbility to work independently, identify required tasks, and complete work efficientlyWell-developed written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to manage administrative details that support team effectivenessClient-focused, forward-thinking approachInterest in and willingness to develop business development skills through training and mentorshipPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business or a closely related fieldExperience supporting transactions, including buy/sell activity or due diligenceEssential Job FunctionsIdentify and establish month-end close processes for new clientsCreate and maintain charts of accounts (COA) aligned with client needs; direct changes with staff accountantsIdentify required client filings, including federal, state, and local income, sales tax, and other compliance requirementsLead payroll and sales tax filings as specified by clientsRestore prior-period financials as necessary in collaboration with managers and staffReview monthly reconciliations to prepare financial statements and present results to clientsProcess payroll and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual filingsSupport accounts payable functions, ensuring 1099 complianceLead process improvement initiatives to improve financial transparency (e.g., COA design, reconciliations, new entity setup)Provide forward-looking, client-centered recommendationsAdminister sales tax requirements as neededProvide feedback and guidance to staff accountantsRespond to client inquiries in a timely and thoughtful manner (mandatory 24-hour response time)Attend weekly team meetings and monitor communications dailyTrack task progress in ClickUp and meet agreed-upon deadlines
