You join a community that respects who you are away from work as much as what you do while at work.Where Your Career is a Force for Good!WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOWWe are looking for a Regional Philanthropy Officer who will meet fundraising goals and objectives and connect with our individual and corporate donors and to serve our mission. In this role, you will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective regional donors in expanding their financial support of the work of the Louisiana Region.Prefer a candidate in the New Orleans area. This is a hybrid work position which includes a mix of virtual and in-office work. The position also requires frequent travel for face-to-face meetings with donors, staff and other constituents.WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOODBuild and deepen meaningful relationships with current and prospective individual donors throughout the Louisiana region, guiding them from initial connection through longterm stewardship.Partner with the local fundraising team to design and execute a regional donor strategy focused on qualification, retention, growth, and reengagement of past supporters.Collaborate crossfunctionally with fundraising colleagues and internal partners to create customized solicitation strategies that align donor interests with organizational priorities.Manage and actively solicit an assigned portfolio of donors through inperson visits and virtual meetings, including preparation of compelling, personalized proposals and materials.Achieve annual revenue goals by successfully cultivating and stewarding a portfolio of donors and prospects.Lead and implement a major gift strategy focused on donors giving $5,000 or more, with a strong emphasis on maximizing philanthropic impact for the American Red Cross.Maintain accurate and timely donor records, activity tracking, and portfolio management within Salesforce.Help donors find purpose and meaning through their philanthropy by connecting their passions to the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross.Participate in disaster relief fundraising efforts as needed, supporting the organization's response during times of greatest need.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDBachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.Minimum five years of sales and/or fundraising experience required.Proven experience in developing strategies for donor retention, growth, and recapture, and proven success with complex requests is required.A current valid driver's license and a good driving record is required.Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge of office systems: MS Office preferred and fundraising database systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce.com).Physical RequirementsPhysical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time.
