Maintenance TechnicianThis role is ideal for a hands-on Maintenance Technician who enjoys working with complex mechanical systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will focus on maintaining and repairing multi-spindle screw machines and CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance, minimize downtime, and support continuous production.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and lubrication on industrial machinery, with a primary focus on multi-spindle screw machines.Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues and troubleshoot faults to minimize equipment downtime.Repair, rebuild, or replace components such as spindles, gears, bearings, cams, collets, feed mechanisms, tooling attachments, and drive systems on multi-spindle equipment.Disassemble, inspect, repair, reassemble, align, and test machines after repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls to verify proper operation.Rebuild and service machine attachments such as thread rollers, die heads, and slotters as needed during maintenance activities.Respond quickly and safely to emergency equipment breakdowns to restore production in a timely manner.Maintain accurate and detailed records of repairs, parts used, and all preventive and corrective maintenance activities.Collaborate with production operators and supervisors to identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements to reliability and performance.Ensure full compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies during all maintenance tasks.Assist with installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment or upgrades when required.Follow and support preventive and preventative maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned downtime.Use diagnostic equipment, schematics, and technical manuals to systematically troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or GED.Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance in a manufacturing environment.Proven experience repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment, with strong preference for experience on multi-spindle screw machines such as Acme-Gridley, Euroturn, or Davenport models.Strong mechanical aptitude with solid knowledge of gears, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics.Basic electrical knowledge, including the ability to perform electrical troubleshooting on industrial equipment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.Proficiency with hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment used in industrial maintenance.Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and respond well under pressure and time constraints.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all repair and maintenance activities.Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of screw machines and related equipment.Ability to follow preventive maintenance and preventative maintenance schedules.Basic understanding of HVAC and general maintenance repair practices as they relate to industrial environments.Additional Skills & QualificationsTechnical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, machining, or mechanics is preferred.Experience with structured preventive maintenance programs.Familiarity with CNC machines or automatic lathes and turning machines as a secondary skill.Certifications in industrial maintenance, OSHA safety, or related technical fields are a plus.Welding and fabrication skills, including the ability to fabricate or repair components as needed.Machining skills that support repair, rebuilding, and adjustment of machine components.Ability to interpret and work from schematics and detailed equipment documentation.Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with production and other maintenance personnel.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from a stable schedule with no weekend work, as all overtime is concentrated on Fridays, supporting a healthy work-life balance. The shop is a typical industrial setting that is not pristine but is not excessively dirty, reflecting an active production environment. You will work around multi-spindle screw machines and CNC equipment, using a variety of hand tools, precision instruments, and diagnostic devices. The schedule does not require Saturday or Sunday work, and overtime is scheduled on Fridays, providing predictable work hours in a busy, production-focused setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elyria, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
