Plant Operations Intern

Summary:A power facility located in Wilkesville, Ohio is seeking a Plant Operations Intern to learn and participate in daily plant operations at the facility. After this internship is complete, the intern will have a firm understanding of the professional, methodological, and technical skills in demand to operate and maintain a modern Simple-Cycle Plant.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Understand and adhere to all plant safety guidelines and procedures while striving to maintain an injury-free environment.Participate in daily activities associated with the safe and reliable operation of the plant including but not limited to supporting preventative maintenance routines, supporting startup and shutdown activities, and supporting environmental compliance.Work activities may include preparation of reports, calculations, specifications, and scope documents as well as generating sketches and drawings.Perform other job-related duties and projects as assignedPerform site and equipment cleanup on an ongoing basis.This is a temporary, full-time position, ASAP. It will last until the end of August. The schedule will be weekdays, 8 hour days, but the start and end times can be somewhat flexible (7a to 3:30p, 8a to 4:30p, or similar). Pay is $19 per hour.Job Requirements:Ability to work as part of a team.Must be 18 years of age or older.High school diploma or GED required.Strong attention to detail.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs and ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, or smell.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.This employer operates a drug-free workplace program and requires a background check with acceptable findings.
