Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesJob Summary / Job PurposeThe Registered Nurse - Specialty Clinic provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed clinician. This role supports patient care in a community health setting by assisting providers, educating patients and families, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. The RN performs clinical duties with professionalism and minimal supervision.Key Responsibilities* Monitor patient flow and assist in maintaining efficient clinic operations.* Collaborate with healthcare providers to support patient care needs.* Assess and triage patients to the appropriate department within the clinic.* Obtain and document accurate health histories, including medication reconciliation.* Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, and IV routes following nursing policies and procedures.* Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens for diagnostic testing.* Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, medications, and health management.* Assist with procedures as directed by the provider.* Maintain clinical competencies and adhere to quality and safety standards.* Participate in quality improvement initiatives.* Perform other duties as assigned.Job RequirementsJob Requirements / QualificationsEducation / Accreditation / Licensure (Required & Preferred):* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required).* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).* Current and valid RN license from the state licensing board (required).* Additional specialty certifications (may be required based on the clinic specialty).* Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required).Experience (Required & Preferred):* 2 years of nursing experience in a specialty clinic (e.g., OBGYN, cardiology, orthopedics) (required).* Experience in a clinical outpatient setting (preferred).Where You'll WorkWelcome to CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group, a full service network of primary care services specializing in family, internal, geriatric and pediatric care serving 88 locations across central and Eastern Kentucky.
