Clinical Trials Accountant IIIMonday - Friday 8am-5pm** 3 days on site, 2 days remote ** Omaha, NE 68198The Clinical Trials Accountant III is responsible for providing comprehensive financial oversight for oncology clinical trials, supporting a diverse portfolio of federally funded, cooperative group, investigator-initiated, and industry-sponsored studies. This role ensures compliance with regulatory and institutional guidelines while maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency.Responsibilities: Develop and manage clinical trial budgets for oncology studies, ensuring alignment with protocols, sponsor requirements, and regulatory standards.Oversee post-award financial management, including monitoring accrual-based revenue, milestone payments, and expense allocation for multiple studies.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, including NIH, FDA, and billing policies.Conduct financial audits, variance analyses, and reconciliations to maintain fiscal accuracy across research portfolios.Collaborate with investigators, resource directors, grants and contracts, compliance teams, and sponsors to resolve financial discrepancies and maintain audit readiness.Prepare and maintain financial reports to support leadership, cost accounting, and strategic planning initiatives.Support sponsor audits, site visits, internal compliance reviews, and study closeout processes.Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls, enhance transparency, and support long-term financial sustainability.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.Experience in accounting or finance within research or clinical trials settings.Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.Proficiency with accounting systems and MS Office suite; ability to learn enterprise systems.Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, and compliance frameworks.Exceptional organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to work under pressure.Ability to interpret and apply sponsor, institutional, and departmental policies.Experience managing high volume and complex transactions.General business acumen, including negotiation skills, financial statement analysis, and forecasting.Advanced analytic reasoning and strategic planning skills for budget and policy understanding.Understanding of regulatory frameworks and internal controls (financial and compliance).Ability to assess risk, problem solve, and evaluate alternative solutions.Ability to collaborate and manage across multiple organizations and interact with sponsors, subcontractors, and collaborators.Working knowledge of CTMS and related technological resources/software.
