Position Summary
The Financial Analyst II provides advanced financial and operational support for the Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska (BHECN), with responsibility for complex financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management of multiple funding sources, including state appropriations, grants, foundation funds, and program-generated revenue. The role requires a high level of autonomy, technical expertise, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex funding environment. The incumbent ensures financial accuracy, compliance, and effective stewardship of public and private funds while supporting high-volume transactional processes and continuous improvement of financial operations.
Required Qualifications
Education: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience: 3 years progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, and/or grants management.
License: None required.
Computer Applications: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, SAP, Microsoft Outlook.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
Strong understanding of grants management and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of UNMC financial policies, procedures, and systems.
Ability to manage multiple funding sources simultaneously with high accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and regulations.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage high-volume workload.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience:
Experience in higher education, healthcare, or public sector environments.
Experience managing grants, contracts, and multi-source funding.
Experience with foundation funds and revenue-generating programs.
Experience with SAP and Microsoft Products.
License: None preferred.
