We expect you to push for excellence and raise the bar.📍 Location: Remote with overlap to our New York City HQ (EST)Where you'll create impactDesign and build core backend systems (Python preferred)Build APIs, services and infrastructure that handle real-time, business-critical and complex accounting logicLaunch production-ready features from scratch, including CI/CD pipelines and deploymentWork with product to turn complex finance workflows into performant, secure systemsManage complexity in a business-logic-heavy product, including data migrations and scale challengesIntegrate third-party tools and external systems - proactively managing edge cases and riskOwn your work from architecture to testing, monitoring, and post-release careWhat sets you up for successHardcore work ethic and high agency5+ years of experience in backend engineering (language agnostic)Deep experience with complex business logic productsExperience deploying on AWS (or similar cloud infrastructure)Strong database skills: PostgreSQL, SQL, ORMs, migrations, schema designExperience building and testing robust APIsSolid understanding of software lifecycle, CI/CD, and production-readinessAbility to manage complex systems with evolving requirementsPython and a modern web framework (FastAPI, Flask, or Django) is a plusFluent in English (C1+) with strong written and verbal communicationHow You OperatePragmatic: you like to move forward and make decisions based in reality (not theory).
