Learn more at www.ace-automation.net and www.mcm1.com.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role as a Fluids Hydraulic Engineer for Test Systems based in Howell, MI. The role involves fluids/hydraulic and pneumatic design of the test machine. The test machines are related to functional testing of products (in-process test, end-of-line test), laboratory testing (development test), as well as specialty lean product assembly cells, which include state-of-the-art technology. This engineer will work with a team of engineers, assemblers, and electricians. Engineering, design, and analysis will take place at your workstation. Machine assembly and debugging will take place on the shop floor. ResponsibilitiesConcept and design fluid measurement systems (P&IDs) which often require process-fluid circuits (fuels), hydraulic-fluid circuits (providing power, lube, or cooling), and pneumatic circuits (actuation devices)Calculate hydraulic and pneumatic test systems to provide fluids flow, temperature, pressure within the machine, and precisely measure temperature, pressure, and flow for product testing.Design using AutoCAD.Work closely with mechanical designers, controls engineers, and software engineers to ensure the overall test machine functions safely, reliably, and repeatably.Develop Bills of Material (BOM) and work with purchasing to procure appropriate materials and equipment.Assist machine builders with the assembly and startup of the machines.Communicate with Project Managers and the customer where necessary.May need to travel from one ACE location to another as needed.Assist the Service team in troubleshooting customers’ machines in the field.Other responsibilities will be assigned.QualificationsPrefer 7+ to 15 years, designing/engineering fluids/hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Experience with fluid components, valves, pumps, flow control, pressure control, servo hydraulics, etc. Knowledge of SolidWorks and Inventor.A strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering principles related to automation and fluid power systems.Problem-solving skills, debugging, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Proficiency in relevant CAD software and hydraulic system simulation tools.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and compliance.Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or related field.Experience in test systems and automation industry is a plus.Experience with PLC, PC controls, and Electrical design is a plus. **Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.**Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.**This is an on-site position; remote work is not available.Send resume to HR-ACE@ace-automation.net.
