Generalist Education Attorney

Opportunity:Our Sacramento office is currently seeking a talented Generalist Education Attorney to join our team. With 1 to 4 years of experience, this individual will be supporting public school districts, community college districts, and other public agency clients with respect to a wide range of education law matters.This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney passionate about public service and making a meaningful impact in California's public education system.Duties & Responsibilities: Provide legal counsel to K-12 public school districts, community colleges and county offices of education, on a wide range of education law matters, including governance, student issues, contracts, and compliance.Advise on student rights and discipline, Title IX, special education (IDEA/Section 504), and public records issues.Represent clients in administrative hearings and proceedings, such as those before the Office for Civil Rights (OCR).Qualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Passion for advocating for educational institutions and public agencies.Salary: $120,000 - $225,000/yearLozano Smith is committed to giving all employees the opportunity to experience meaningful, impactful work.
