Learn more about us (3) LER TechForce: Life | LinkedInWhat you will be doing: Perceived Quality Engineer is a key role within the Studio Craftsmanship team and is largely responsible for the design execution of our products live up to our brand's commitment to our customers. This role touches all areas of the design and development process and directly affects the product and customer experience. Responsibilities:Develop a comprehensive master deck outlining specifications for all visible part interfaces and ensure alignment between Studio and Engineering inputs. Define fit and finish targets, coordinate cross-functional teams, and guide Interior and Exterior & Accessory developments based on program requirements. Recommend alternative surface designs, cutlines, and interface solutions to the Design Studio to achieve improved perceived quality using proven methods. Provide the CAS team with guidance on minimum section requirements based on material properties and manufacturing processes. Conduct competitor vehicle benchmarking relevant to project objectives and deliver detailed analyses to engineering and design teams. Lead issue identification and resolution efforts during prototype builds. Convert feasibility requirements into clear and actionable direction for the Studio team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically proficient, can influence others, has excellent communication skills, ability to create strong relationships, is process driven, extremely well-organized, and inquisitive. What you'll need to be successful: Basic: Bachelor's in Engineering or technical discipline, Masters preferred. 5+ years' experience with Perceived Quality Standards at a global Automotive company. Minimum of 2 full program cycle experience from concept to production launch in automotive Exterior and Interior Components and Systems. Knowledge of part and assembly tolerance stack analysis. Proficient+ experience in Catia or similar CAD software. Proficient understanding of GD&T. Strong competency in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&T.Strong statistical awareness and vision of what high quality looks like. Strong understanding of the material impact on overall craftsmanship and perceived quality. Experience with statistical qualification of machinery, equipment, and gauges is preferred Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment.
