We work seamlessly across practices, industries and jurisdictions with asset managers, private equity and venture capital firms, Fortune 500 and FTSE companies, major sports leagues, entertainment industry legends and other industry-redefining companies.A Billing Compliance Specialist provides support for all procedures relating to the maintenance of client and matter finance data, the collection and filing of Firm Engagement Letters, and the confirmation of the completeness and accuracy of client and matter billing information for new business. Working with all members of the Client Operations and Finance Departments, the Billing Compliance Specialist will also support the review of Client Guidelines and the management of documentation supporting client and matter engagements (for example, engagement letters and outside counsel guidelines). The Billing Compliance Specialist will report to the Senior Manager of Client Operations: Compliance & Reporting.ResponsibilitiesReview of client/matter information including billing, rate, and retainer requirements through the Firm’s business intake processPerform due diligence, disseminate accurate and timely information to the lawyer(s) and other Firm personnel relating to current and new businessModify client and matter data within the various finance systems, Aderant and Intapp, upon requestCollect and review Engagement Letters for clients to ensure accuracy of client and matter set‐upReview Outside Counsel Guidelines provided by clients and support the implementation of Billing GuidelinesFollow‐up with appropriate lawyer(s) and/or Firm personnel, as required, in order to efficiently perform duties, including obtaining Engagement Letters, Billing Guidelines, and Outside Counsel GuidelinesPerform client and matter maintenance throughout the life of the matter, including but not limited to updates to Bill Groups, Lawyer assignments, and client and matter credits, as neededProvide back‐up support for time entry modification requests or cost‐backup inquiriesPerform all administrative tasks associated therewithSupport the proper administrative close‐out of matters and/or clients at the conclusion of representationMaintain records in accordance with applicable laws and Firm policyQualificationsBachelor’s degree required2 or more years of experience in a legal billing environmentAbility to initiate, follow through and complete time sensitive projects with minimal supervision in a fast-paced global environmentExperience with client and matter finance information and the ability to compare to executed Engagement Letters and Outside Counsel GuidelinesAbility to use industry standard office software applications including Elite and/or Aderant, Intapp, Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and other resources as requiredDemonstrated ability to compile, review, determine and report results logically based on data and information that is varied in content and formatExcellent verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with partners, associates and other Firm personnel throughout the Firm’s international officesStrong attention to detail and analytical and organizational skillsThis position may require periodic physical presence in Proskauer's offices as business needs require. The anticipated compensation range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000.
