Our team works closely with customers to develop solutions that power some of the most demanding environments in the world.Position OverviewThe Defense Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities that support Aegis Power Systems' national sales and marketing efforts. This U.S.-based remote role reports directly to the Sales Strategy Chief and focuses on generating qualified leads, building customer relationships, and supporting strategic revenue growth.The BDR works closely with the sales and engineering teams to identify new customers, programs, and opportunities within the defense, aerospace, and high-reliability electronics markets.The ideal candidate has familiarity with electronics hardware design or manufacturing, enabling them to effectively qualify power conversion opportunities and engage technical stakeholders.This is a highly customer-facing role requiring strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a hunter mindset to proactively engage prospective customers across engineering, program management, procurement, executive leadership, and military program offices.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and develop new business opportunities, including new customers, programs, and divisions within existing accountsGenerate and qualify leads through industry events, targeted outreach, webinars, and marketing campaignsSupport responses to SBIR, OTA, and other U.S. government R&D funding solicitationsInitiate NDAs and coordinate technical discussions between customer engineering teams and Aegis Sales EngineersMaintain accurate opportunity tracking and engagement records within the company CRM systemMaintain ongoing communication with prospective customers until opportunities are qualified or disqualifiedRepresent Aegis at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings across the United StatesSupport sales pipeline development and assist in advancing opportunities toward proposal and contract stagesRequired QualificationsExperience using CRM systems for lead tracking, quoting, and pipeline reportingStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to discuss technical power conversion concepts with customersDemonstrated ability to identify and pursue prospective customers and business opportunitiesExperience with B2B lead generation and opportunity qualification Experience supporting marketing campaigns, webinars, or industry outreach initiativesWillingness to travel domestically (~25%)Hunter mindset with persistence in customer outreach and relationship developmentPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or a related technical fieldExperience in defense, aerospace, or power electronics industriesFamiliarity with DoD program offices, SBIR, OTA, or government technology funding programsWhat Makes This Role AttractiveOpportunity to help expand Aegis' presence within the defense and aerospace marketsDirect engagement with engineering leaders, program offices, and technical decision-makersHigh-impact role influencing early-stage sales opportunity development and strategic growthFlexible remote work environment with national customer engagementBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision insuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Account (FSA)Life insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Retirement plan (SEP)Relocation assistanceEqual Employment Opportunity StatementAegis Power Systems, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.We celebrate diversity and are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace for all employees.
