Job Title: AI Engineer Location: McLean, VA (onsite 5days a week) Visa: EAD, GC, USC only Duration: Long term Reach me at: Recruiter2023us@gmail.com Role Summary The AI Engineer will design, develop, and deploy GitLab Duo AI agents that automate software development lifecycle activities. This role will extend GitLab Duo’s native capabilities through custom workflows, tool integrations, Model Context Protocol (MCP), APIs, and Python development to deliver production-ready AI solutions. This position combines software engineering with applied Generative AI to create scalable agentic automation. Responsibilities * Build and customize GitLab Duo AI agents * Develop Python-based orchestration and automation components * Design agent workflows supporting SDLC activities * Integrate enterprise APIs and developer tools * Implement MCP-compatible tool integrations * Design context management strategies for enterprise agents * Develop evaluation pipelines for agent quality * Build reusable AI components and frameworks * Troubleshoot production AI workflows * Collaborate with Prompt Engineers to improve overall agent performance * Work alongside internal DevSecOps engineers on secure deployment patterns Required Qualifications * 5+ years software engineering experience * 2+ years building Generative AI applications * Strong Python programming skills * Experience integrating REST APIs * Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar DevOps platforms * Knowledge of LLM orchestration frameworks * Experience with AI evaluation methodologies * Strong debugging and systems integration skills Pay: $60.00 - $75.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Work Location: In person
