Electronic Assembler

Akkodis is seeking a – “Assembler” for a Contract position with a client located in Carson, CA.Pay Range: $18 - $19/hr. (The rate/salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.).Summary:This position requires performing routine and repetitive electronic assembly operations and processes for aircraft parts in a manual manufacturing assembly line environment.Summary of Duties:Assembles and solder electronic printed circuit boards, small mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.The employee will use basic electronic assembly tools, instruments and equipment daily in the production of printed circuit boards and assemblies.Use standard electronic assembly hand tools, common power tools and continuity test equipment such as ohmmeters.Prepare wires for assembly measuring, cutting, stripping, tinning and attaching contacts, lugs and other terminal type devices using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools and soldering equipment.Apply and handle conformal coatings, sealants and adhesives.Perform less complex acceptance test procedures utilizing specific test equipment.Work in a team environment participating in continuous improvement activities.Keep assigned work area organized and clean.Perform other duties as assigned.Computer Skills:Basic knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Other Skills:Must have excellent communications skills both verbal and written.Must be proficient in soldering small wires, parts and components.Must be proficient with computers.Must be proficient with all basic hand tools, ohm meters and basic power tools.Must be proficient with soldering and de-soldering equipment.Must have experience and training to IPC-J-STD-001 (Requirement for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies).Must have experience and training to IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies).Must have experience and training to IPC-A-620 (Requirements & Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies).Must have the ability to understand and interpret electrical schematics.Must have the ability to deal with standard tolerancing (allowances, limits and fits) and perform advanced math calculations.Must have a complete knowledge of related aircraft hardware as it relates to rivets, screws and bolts (NAS, MS, An, etc.).Qualifications:Education: High School Diploma or experience/knowledge as determined by managementExperience: Minimum 4 years of experience in a production environment or equivalent business environmentEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, an EAP program, commuter benefits, and a 401K plan.
