Communications Analyst

Maycomb Capital is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Analyst to help shape and amplify the firm's external voice. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and enjoys turning complex ideas into compelling, clear messaging.You will work closely with senior leadership, as well as the investment and investor relations teams to develop high-quality written materials, manage digital presence, and support the firm's brand positioning. This role offers significant ownership and visibility, with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to how the firm is represented in the market.The ideal candidate is a strong writer, an organized project manager, and a proactive self-starter who is comfortable operating with autonomy in a lean, fast-moving environment.Who You AreA clear, concise writer who can quickly synthesize complex financial or impact-related informationHighly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneouslyEnergized by ownership — you prefer driving projects forward rather than waiting for directionAdaptable and solutions-oriented; you're comfortable with evolving prioritiesDetail-obsessed when it comes to grammar, formatting, and presentation qualityCurious about investing, impact, and the broader market landscapeComfortable collaborating with senior leaders and incorporating feedback efficientlyExcited to build and refine processes rather than rely on existing large-firm infrastructureResponsibilitiesDraft and edit high-quality written materials including due diligence questionnaire responses, investor communications, thought leadership pieces, and website contentDevelop talking points, briefing memos, and presentation materials for senior leadership participating in conferences and eventsTranslate complex investment concepts and impact strategies into clear, compelling messagingEnsure consistency of tone, voice, and positioning across all external materialsMarketing Collateral & Pitch MaterialsBuild and maintain pitch decks, one-pagers, and other investor- or investee-facing collateralPartner with investment and investor relations team members to update materials with fund performance, portfolio highlights, and firm milestonesSupport the development of new product or strategy materials as the firm evolvesMaintain an organized library of up-to-date marketing assetsDigital Presence & Brand PositioningManage and grow the firm's LinkedIn presence, including content creation and editorial planningIdentify opportunities to highlight portfolio companies, thought leadership, and firm newsMonitor engagement metrics and refine content strategy accordinglyHelp shape and reinforce the firm's brand narrative in the marketMedia & External VisibilityResearch and identify opportunities for earned and placed mediaDraft press materials, contributed articles, and award submissionsCoordinate with external partners (e.g., PR consultants, conference organizers) as neededTrack media coverage and maintain a record of external visibilityCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with investment, investor relations, and leadership teams to source content and gather inputsTake ownership of projects from initial concept through final deliveryProactively identify ways to improve processes and elevate the firm's external communicationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in relevant major1–4 years of relevant work experiencePositive attitude and empathetic disposition; drive to do work in service of othersExcellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and senior colleagues simultaneouslyStrong written skills — published pieces of written content a plusSuperior PowerPoint slide creation and oral communications skillsCommitment to a collegial workplace and the flexibility and drive to thrive in an evolving start-up environmentThe Communications and Investor Relations Analyst will work full-time, in-person at our office in Brooklyn with the Maycomb Capital team.J-18808-Ljbffr
