This role is responsible for leading, delegating, and supporting the development of practices, procedures, and systems to support a continuously improving and profitable engineering organization.This executive-level position is ideal for a leader with deep experience in high-value commercial construction, financial stewardship, and organizational leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee design, modification, and improvement of company engineering projects and services; directs the design of testing and maintenance processes, and ensure quality control.Delegates and empowers engineering directors and project managers in formulating effective business plans, financial analytics, and client communications.Establishes budget controls, coordinates project and process changes to maintain and improve cost/benefit ratio.Reviews engineering designs in light of the organizations strategic goals, performance objectives.Coordinates the development of efficient organizational structure, including the development of knowledge, skills and abilities; and establishes a succession plan to facilitate a steady and efficient organizational growth and efficiency.Administrative duties.Travel approximately 30% of the time to job sites and regional officesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management7+ years of engineering leadership experience OR 20+ years of relevant industry experience in Design Engineering with 7+ years of leadership experience.Professional Engineer (PE) LicenseExperience in large healthcare and higher education commercial construction projects ($25M – $50M+).Proven experience leading complex project portfolios and construction teams at a senior levelStrong financial and accounting knowledge, including full P&L responsibilityIn-depth knowledge of MEP systems, design-build, and construction operationsExcellent organizational, negotiation, and leadership skillsAbility to build cross-departmental relationships and drive a high-performance cultureEffective communicator with a detail-oriented and hands-on approachAble to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple prioritiesFamiliar with industry trends, best practices, and competitive landscapeTravel RequirementsUp to 50% travel required to job sites and office locationsWork Environment & Physical RequirementsRegularly required to sit or stand for prolonged periodsMust be able to climb stairs and lift/move objects up to 20 poundsFrequent hand/wrist motion for typing and document handlingLight work with occasional movement between job sites and office environmentsWork conducted in a generally quiet professional settingThis is a career-defining leadership opportunity to join an organization at the forefront of energy innovation and integrated construction delivery.
