This strategic leadership role ensures that initiatives are prioritized, governed, and delivered in alignment with organizational goals. Additionally, driving progress and managing dependencies across Pillar Teams.The Portfolio Lead drives value realization through continuous monitoring, executive communication, and by fostering a culture of innovation, transparency, and disciplined execution.This is a leadership role responsible for leading one of the largest and most complex portfolios within IT. The Portfolio Lead operates at an executive level, working seamlessly across business and technology functions, and exercising significant influence. Success in this role requires the ability to balance strategic vision with pragmatic execution—translating priorities into actionable outcomes while navigating ambiguity, scale, and competing demands.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Alignment:Ensure initiatives across the Pillar align with enterprise strategy and value delivery goalsDrive portfolio prioritization and investment decisions in collaboration with Value Delivery Office and executive sponsorsProactively manage cross pillar dependenciesConduct quarterly portfolio planning sessions working connecting with other portfolio for cross-functional effortsPortfolio OversightMaintain end-to-end visibility of portfolio health, delivery metrics, and risk indicatorsOversee execution governance to ensure timely delivery, scope integrity, and quality outcomesGovernance And ReportingLead portfolio reviews, stage gate assessments, and reporting with senior leadersEnsure compliance with lean governance frameworks, financial controls, and enterprise standardsContinuous ImprovementIdentify improvement opportunities in delivery processes, resource alignment, and toolingFoster collaboration, shared learning, and innovation across delivery teamsSkillsStrategic thinking and enterprise portfolio management expertiseStrong leadership and people management capabilitiesDeep knowledge of Agile methodologies and governance practicesDemand management and capacity balancingExcellent financial and risk management capabilitiesAbility to manage cross pillar dependenciesAdvanced reporting and dashboardingProficient with portfolio management toolsCommunication and presentation skills for executive stakeholdersStrong problem solving, decision making, and conflict resolution abilitiesMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, IT Management, Engineering or related field (Advanced degree preferred)7-10 years of experience in portfolio or program management, with at least 3 years in a leadership roleDemonstrated success in managing large, complex programs across diverse teamsExperience working in Agile delivery environmentsStrong familiarity with enterprise architecture, resource planning, and capacity managementExperience with Strategic Portfolio Management tools (ServiceNow)Preferred QualificationsMBA or Master’s in Information Systems or Technology ManagementPMP, PgMP, or Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP, ICP-APM)Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt)Experience leading digital transformation initiatives or enterprise-scale implementationsExperience with Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)Experience with OKR based planning or value stream managementExperience driving transformational initiatives and understanding of organizational change management practices#SF-DICE-MITMontefiore Health System, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
