You will manage munitions research and development programs, working closely with small businesses to develop innovative technologies.Role and Responsibilities*Manage all aspects of research and development programs for new munitions, including:Strategic Integration: Serve as the primary integrator across Major Commands (Air Combat Command, Global Strike Command), Air Staff, Program Executive Officers, and Combatant Commands to align operational priorities with technology capabilities. Financial & Budget Management: Formulate, manage, and defend large-scale budgets, including Five-Year Defense Plans. Executive Briefing & Communication: Develop and deliver high-visibility program presentations to senior stakeholders, including Congressional staff, and Pentagon Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation Panels. Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Direct and lead highly technical, multidisciplinary teams to deliver operationally relevant capabilities. Qualifications and Education Requirements*Master of Science in Management, Engineering, or a related discipline. Completion of senior military education programs (e.g., Air War College). Eligibility or certification as an Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Materiel Lead. Proven history of managing large-scale, full lifecycle acquisition activities from Pre-Milestone A through Post-Production. 10+ years of experience specifically in Acquisition Program Management. 10+ years of experience focused on developing and implementing new weapon technologies. Weapons Systems & Munitions: Recognized expertise in advanced weapon systems, including seeker technologies, proximity sensors, guidance systems, energetics, networked autonomy, and warhead design/penetration. Science & Technology Transition: Experience in rapid prototyping, guiding joint-service technology transition, and executing Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) requirements to formal Programs of Record. Technical Evaluation & Risk Management: Extensive experience in conducting technical evaluations and managing program risks Additional NotesAn Active TS/SCI clearance is required Up to 15% travel may be required. #MTSI
